I managed a team of credit control managers and administrators within the commercial Customer Services department.The team's main objectives were to reduce debtor days, improve processes and introduce improved working methods with customers and internal Sales & Marketing departments. These were achieved successfully within a short timeframe. Acting Treasury & Accounts Payable Manager

I managed the Treasury and Accounts Payable teams dealing with internal and external customers (covering maternity leave).During this time, I also led a team working on re-engineering the intercompany accounting and settlement processes liasing globally with factories, warehouses and accounting functions.I also worked closely with the Corporate Tax function to improve communication and understanding of their requirements.

The internal audit function covered the Unigate group of companies including:•Unigate Dairies•St. Ivel•Wincanton Distribution•Malton Bacon•Prodipal & Vedial (French dairy produce)This position gave me the opportunity to travel the length and breadth of the UK and across the Channel to France to beautiful parts of rural countryside and coastline.Internal audit is a great chance to see how a business works from the inside. I trained as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in the London Embankment Place office from 1993, qualifying in 1996. I spent the majority of my time at Coopers in the audit division where my clients ranged from regional charitable offices to major multinational Blue Chip organisations.This training gave me an outstanding grounding for working with a broad spectrum of clients and gave me an insight into what makes a business tick.
