Experience managing a team of 5 Regional Directors and a 42 strong team of Area Managers (and the ensuing 600 stores), a Central operations function as well as the HR and L & D function. Blockbuster is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dish networks (Nasdaq) one of the largest TV satellite operators in the U.S with a market cap of $14bnInitially challenged with taking on the turnaround of a business to include acquisitions, disposals, business diversification and with a remit that included the origination and involvement of store profiling, stock management and allocation, a store marketing remit as well as overseeing a Central Operations, HR and training function as well as the responsibility for 620 stores and 45 Area Managers and 5 Regional Directors. Achievements:✭ Strategic involvement in the origination and development of commercial, marketing, stock management, pricing and operational initiatives that turned a £30m loss making business in a 3 year period to generating £128m of EBITDA over a 3 year period. The revenue growth grew from £160m per annum to £260m per annum.✭ Introduced a scheme that re-defined roles and responsibilities and instilled a sales and service culture within the business that delivered double digit sales growth every year over a 3 year period✭ Responsible for a local marketing budget of £200,000 which grew customer acquisition leading to growth of 6% in new customer visits year on year.✭ The introduction of a new brand within the business that increased sales per store by 50%✭ Implemented a cost management programme that reduced costs by almost 10% per annum with a £9m cost saving over a 3 year period.
