I founded Blue Switch Consulting in March of 2017. Blue Switch was committed to equipping curious organizations with the research and insight they needed to begin to make equitable change inside their organizations. From fintech to private law, I served clients with data-driven insights and strategies for connecting the dots between equitable intent and action. It was while running Blue Switch that I first published the now infamous article, "Don't do unconscious bias training". I was compelled to write that piece in an attempt to shine a light on how ineffective that intervention is at making equitable change. It was my propensity for stirring the pot that led to my connection with my now-co-founder and professional soul-mate, Anna Dewar Gully. Together, we have co-created the Equity Sequence™️ which is part of a new wave of innovation in the equity and inclusion space. Committing to Equity Sequence™️ and our business - Tidal Equality Inc - I am closing the doors on Blue Switch Consulting effective Oct. 31, 2021. Show less

When I arrived, the eight doctors on staff were struggling to use a new government-mandated online health management system, patient wait-times were averaging more than 45 minutes, and doctors were complaining about the lack of organization. I learned the online HMS, wrote instructional manuals for the doctors, and trained the doctors in the use of the system. I advised on operational issues to the practice administrator, and streamlined processes between clinical assistants and physicians, reducing patient wait times to an average of 20 minutes, and increasing scheduling capacity.
