Working in a DevOps position within the company, I am engaged in improving both the customer and developer experience of the Market Dojo eProcurement solution. I lead mixed internal/contracted project teams in creating new features and introducing enhancements to the product, with a focus on maintaining output quality. This includes engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, interpreting user specifications and planning the technical approaches to the problems therein. As part of my responsibilities I undertake cleansing, transformation and insertion of client data into the Market Dojo system, including the creation and testing of custom ETL scripts or pipelines where necessary. This enables the company to offer the ability to migrate potential clients from their existing system.I am also responsible for the architecture, configuration and maintenance of the Google Cloud Platform infrastructure underpinning the solution, including creation and maintenance of the Terraform templates and Packer build scripts which hold the Market Dojo environment to a high and consistent reproducible standard.

I was contracted as a technical consultant on part of the Lottery-funded Advice Services Transition Fund project, which aims to improve the services of the Bureau, engage with partner organisations in Waverley and strengthen the sustainability of the charity for the future. I made an initial proposal to CAW that they might wish to investigate a Voice over IP system as a replacement for their existing mixed analogue and ISDN traditional telephone system. This suggestion was made on the basis of extensibility of the system, and an expected reduction in ongoing costs. To determine that this reduction in costs would exist, I extracted data from previous phone bills from offices across the district and established the amount and distribution of expenditure over a year of operations. This proposal was accepted, and I was brought on under the ASTF project banner to implement the system. I have also been giving technical advice and doing hardware research and site visits for another stream of the ASTF project, commissioning self-service touchscreen kiosks to provide Advice and Information outreach to the community CAW serves without requiring additional volunteers. In my work towards these goals, I have drafted and reviewed quote request documentation; prepared technical information sheets to accompany quote requests, including investigating the existing systems hardware; and interviewed and discussed the requirements of my client with potential suppliers of systems, hardware and software. I maintain full notes of meetings and project progress with respect to the streams in which I am involved. While in this position, I have also proposed internal changes which have yet to be actioned to improve the efficiency of the Bureau with regards to utility expenses, including the replacement of old PCs with low power, high efficiency models, and I am managing a volunteer who is investigating ways to reduce CAW's expenditure on necessary premium-rate phone calls.

I was contracted to produce a full, up-to-date product database and website utilising the Sellerdeck Ecommerce software package. This I then integrated with the related Sellerdeck EPOS system, allowing full stock control to be enforced across both the online and retail portions of the business.I have continued to provide support and updates for these systems and website where necessary, maintaining a strong professional relationship with my client Mr Richard Royds. Most recently, I have provided the business with a social network presence, integrating Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and suitable analytics software with the Constant Contact mailing list service.
