Shaile is in the top five percent of our graduating seniors over the past ten years. She combines her academic curiousity with the desire to do good in the world. She is also an excellent mentor to our underclass students.

As part of the 'Walk Into My Life' project in London, I conducted research on the Somali community (both from Somaliland and Somalia) who live in the Borough of Tower Hamlets in East London. This included conducting community visits and interviewing community members to gain a better understanding of the needs of the community as well as to assess their sense of belonging vis-a-vis discrimination, housing conditions, culture, etc. This research, which will feed into the strategic report, laid the preliminary groundwork for a full project on using unique methodologies to engage with and enhance the position of minority communities.
