In charge of the coordination of the propulsion and structures team of Hyperloop UPV for the Pod Competition III organized by SpaceX in Los Angeles, being in eighth position at a global level. There I had to work with people from different disciplines to carry out an innovative project. My job was to ensure that the design made sense and that the different subsystems (chassis, propulsion, brakes ...) were consistent. Apart from this, I was doing structural simulations to ensure the integrity of the prototype that would go from 0 to 400km/h in less than 1 km. On the other hand, I had to plan the mechanical tests that would ensure that our prototype was safe under SpaceX specifications. We tested all the innovative systems: from the carbon fiber wheels subjected to 50 tons to the adhesives that had to absorb the high temperatures that the brakes could reach. Besides all these tasks, I carried out the management of the structures, and I had a lot of contact with the companies that supported and collaborated with us. In addition, I carried out a key task when it came to guarantee that the hundreds of pieces that we mechanized and prepared for the assembly of Valentia were on time. Finally, I was a key player in the defense of our project in front of the SpaceX engineers and testing our systems during the week of the competition. Show less
