As an Intellectual Property Assistant I am responsible for the docket of the three Patent Attorneys that I work for. My responsibilities include reporting communications received from the US Patent and Trademark Office and drafting, filing and reporting responses to the Communications. I am also responsible for reviewing instructions from clients, preparing and filing of New Applications and Information Disclosure Statements. Previously as a member of the Formalities team I worked as the head of the Information Disclosure Statement Department. While running this department I was responsible for docketing and reviewing all incoming IDSs. Another important aspect was training other member of the formalities team so that they could efficiently complete IDSs on their own; this is something I am still currently assisting with even though I am no longer a member of that department. In this position I was responsible so keeping detailed statistics about the work being processed in the formalities department and reporting the data I collected to the Equity Partners. Time management is essential in handling a large number of cases with strict deadlines and ensuring that the Attorneys have adequate time to review cases before their deadlines. When compiling and completing forms for the cases, I am very detail oriented. I use several computer programs to review files and ensure that all information is correct and that all systems are updated so that the cases I work on will not have small errors in future prosecution. By working at a smaller law firm I have been able to rapidly expand my knowledge of Patent prosecution. I have experience and training in handling all stages of an application. This has also helped me to see an array of issues and error that can happen during Patent prosecution and given me knowledge of how to effectively solve them. Show less

Along with a small group of students, I formed a team that conducted a marketing research project within our university and throughout the town surrounding the school to determine how to better integrate the two. My duties included conducting focus groups with students. Analyzing the towns business and collecting data from them. We then presented our data to the local business board and made recommendations to them on how to better market themselves to the students at the university.
