I created and managed my own private swim lesson company. I gave lessons to over fifty different children/adults every summer. The lessons were open to all ages and customized to the clients different skill levels and needs. I specialized in work with autistic children. This job taught me how to manage my schedule and time. ► Along the Calaveras, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne rivers I participate in rotary screw trap monitoring, PIT tagging, snorkel surveys, mark-and-recapture surveys, assisting with maintaining an adult counting weir with Vaki Riverwatcher infrared monitoring system and performing kayak stacking surveys for the weir. ► In order to learn more about juvenile chinook predation while migrating to the ocean, I also participate in boat electro-fishing for predator species. I also assist with stomach lavage, recording body metrics, PIT-tagging, scale aging of the predator species. ► I assist with various fish rescue projects using both seine nets, and electro-fishing to capture and relocate the fish. ► I take on a lot of communications projects at FishBio as well. I write blog posts where I try to share science and wildlife facts in a way that is interesting for all ages and skill levels.
