I wrote scripts and storyboarded for 2 separate feature news stories that I shot, directed, recorded voiceovers, and edited videos for. One covered the behind the scenes of Seneca Falls high school's commencement ceremony with interviews from the principals and the 2020 yearbook dedicatee who I highlighted in the feature. The second feature covered a local small business (ice cream truck) where I did a ride along, captured an average day for the owner, and conducted an interview. I wrote both of these stories placing them in the context of the pandemic and how it has affected business/livelihood/future plans. I shot b-roll and edited another feature story for a hotel bar and grille in my town. I reimagined/updated the company's jingle intro and outro to be used for all of their media. I animated intro and outro sequences in after effects for 2 different podcasts, updated company logos and animated an audio spectrum visual. I live streamed events such as 5 municipal meetings in town halls of Seneca Falls and Romulus (my town and the town over from me) using youtube and vmix. I also streamed 2 commencement ceremonies for graduating seniors of Seneca Falls and Romulus where i manned cameras and used other equipment/softwares. The opportunity to learn and experiment with adobe, shadow/sit in on the recording of podcasts, and get experience with equipment and streaming has helped me improve tremendously and place my future in a clearer perspective. I learned a lot about the business side of media from the team by attending weekly staff meetings: Advertising/politics, public relations/networking with other businesses, streamlining the brand, creating a clean web design. I had worked in the office 3 days a week for 9 weeks and received hourly pay on top of pay from the field work. Show less
