Kristen Power is an overachiever in every sense of the word. During her tenure at RKPR Inc., there wasn’t a marketing communications function she did not touch. Kristen’s strength lies in her creativity and ability to look at program or tactic from more than one way and provide recommendations and solutions to achieve desired results. From developing social communications strategies to targeted public relations pitches to being a master storyteller, Kristen doesn’t hold any punches and delivered on behalf of our clients time and time again. Above all else, she’s a go getter and isn’t afraid to jump in and do whatever it takes to make it happen. Any business would be fortunate to have her as part of their team.

Kristen's reputation preceded her before we ever worked together. She is known as a hard worker and creative thinker, and when I heard that she would be working at RKPR with tourism clients I'd be involved with, I was thrilled. She proved to surpass her reputation in every way. She was always available when I had questions or wanted to run an idea by her. She always responded to emails and messages quickly and never made me feel rushed or that I was interrupting her. She has that unique ability to give you her full attention even when she is multi-tasking (which she usually is!). I have seen her apply the same dedication to her clients, on-site for media interviews, handing out brochures and posters to promote events and issuing endless press releases, blog posts and tweets. Kristen thinks like both a reporter and a marketer, always willing to pitch stories that will resonate with reporters and reflect the key messages of her clients. She is a sure-bet as an employee, someone who doesn't know how to give less than 100 percent.

ThisIsReno.com is an award-winning, independent, local news source in Reno, Nevada, with stories contributed by a network of freelance writers and photographers, as well as opinion articles submitted from community members and local leaders. I coordinate all reporting and photography assignments and ensure that the site has adequate news content each day. I edit all stories and apply AP style, correct grammar and punctuation, and help maintain clarity. For a portion of stories, I also provide developmental editing and copy editing and provide fact-checking support for submitted opinions. Additionally, I format and upload the content online, select and insert images, photo galleries, or video, and optimize posts for SEO. This is a part-time contract position. Show less
