  • Co-led Tactical Design for Pandemics research initiated by Prof. Carlos Teixeira to support organizations with systems design tools that can help them navigate challenges during Covid-19 pandemic. • Formed and led a team of 5 design and public health research interns. Designed and coordinated research protocols including secondary research, one to one interviews and co-creation workshops across 5 countries and 5 sectors. • Analyzed findings using data visualization, Anatomy of Infrastructures and Whole View Model frameworks and synthesized into actionable insights for industry leaders. • Published research report and website presenting insights and recommendations with and conducted a public webinar to present findings to a 100+ audience.

  Flag Calumet was an infrastructure design and research project that had reached the final design stage where I joined. •Designed a habitat data-collection kit to be distributed to and used by communities based on an existing technical prototype and previous research findings. • Synthesized previous research findings into actionable design principles for the project. • Created lo-fi and hi-fi prototypes of a modular and customizable kit that can enable lay people to collect and share environmental data to support habitat restoration. . • Designed a workshop format and pedagogical content for introducing the kit in highschools.

  Joon is a social startup that I co-founded in 2016. • Bootstrapped a social enterprise that supports disenfranchised craftspeople in accessing the market and improving their livelihoods. • Designed and launched the design counseling service and fair trade e-commerce platform while working with multiple craft producer communities including refugees, womens’ cooperatives and families of disabled children (70+ individual beneficiaries and 4 collections). • Created business model and strategized growth and social impact metrics leading to seed funding from International Organization of Migration. • Designed and conducted human-centered design and participatory design workshops for beneficiary groups and corporations. Over 2 years, the company partnered with and/or offered design consultancy to 20+ NGOs including UNHCR and UNDP.

  Renko is a manufacturer of science experiment setups for K-12 institutions and science museums. As the design lead I worked on: • Finding creative and fun ways of demonstrating scientific phenomenons to visitors, focusing on children with a STEM pedagogy and by working with the science teachers. • Designing the experiment stations and prototyping science experiments. • 2D / 3D visualization of experiment stations.   Stackle is a modular kitchen appliances platform where people can modify and expand their Stackle set. This was an independently initiated, inter-disciplinary project where I worked with a team of electronics and robotics engineers. • I carried out the concept development, scenario-building, market research, market positioning, go-to-market strategy and worked with the team for prototyping, workshop facilitation, cost analysis, and feasibility study. • Stackle was chosen as a finalist in YFYI entrepreneurship program at METU Technopolis. As part of the program I designed and presented the pitch decks for the project. • The open-design framework of Stackle was also presented by me and my team partner in 4T Design Symposium at Yasar University in Turkey.
