Experience

    • Co Founder & Chairman
      • Jul 1994 - Present

V-TRAC VIETNAM American pioneer investor Anthony D. Salzman established V-TRAC in 1994. It was the first 100% foreign owned company permitted to operate a sales and service business in Vietnam. V-TRAC delivered the first western made construction and mining equipment ever sold in northern Vietnam. In 1995 Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT) became a shareholder. In the year 2000 a joint venture between V-TRAC and Australia's ANZ Banking Group (ASX:ANZ) established ANZ-V-TRAC International Leasing Company, the first 100% foreign owned financial leasing company in Vietnam. In 2003 V-TRAC became the first borrower in history approved by the U.S. government's OPIC to receive funds for a project in Vietnam. V-TRAC became the only distributor of American mining machines in Asia that achieved market leadership, enabling the Vietnamese national mining company to quadruple its coal production and win the nation's highest "Hero" award. By 2009 the V-TRAC group distributed numerous brands of equipment, engines, and automobiles. It had trained more than 15,000 Vietnamese skilled workers; annual revenue exceeded $100 million with more than 500 employees. In 2010 the company divested all of its labor-intensive service businesses, and restructured into an industrial property owner. Today, V-TRAC’s facilities support Komatsu (TYO:6301), the heavy equipment market leader in Vietnam, as well as Marubeni Corp (TYO:8002), the giant trading company responsible for Komatsu’s sales and service in Vietnam. V-TRAC is now developing a 2 million square foot (200,000m2) logistic hub that is part of Ho Chi Minh City’s explosive inbound distribution infrastructure.
