French language teacher

Apr 2015 - Jul 2015
While studying translation at the Faculty of Arts, I decided to try mself out as a language teacher. I therefore organised private French lessons for children aged 3–10 which gave me ample opportunity to develop my creativity by organising various pedagogical activities and creating mnemonic techniques to consolidate knowledge through play. I also practiced harnessing people’s frustration and transforming it into motivation, all while remaining patient in all circumstances, e.g. when a person has difficulty retaining new information. Data annotator

Nov 2014 - Jan 2015
In order to broaden my linguistic skills, I decided to join a crowdsourcing project organized by the Jožef Stefan Institute. In the context of this project, I was a member of a team which annotated sentimentality in English tweets on the Goldfinch annotation platform. Through recognition of empathy, different emotions and rhetoric devices, such as sarcasm and irony, we decoded the sentiment of gathered tweets and labelled them as positive, negative or neutral. This data served as the basis for Mrs. Jasmina Smailović’s PhD thesis titled Sentiment analysis in streams of microblogging posts. Show less
