      • Jan 2015 - Sep 2016

Maintained and improved hydraulic fracturing offset review process and contributed to various projects as opportunities and business need arose.Conducted hydraulic fracturing risk assessments to mitigate risks of possible wellbore communication. Completed 56 offset reviews on 285 offset wells with zero lost containment events. Worked closely with other operators to ensure cost effective mitigation plans with acceptable risk levels for both companies. Studied coil tubing mill-outs of frac ports and composite plugs on both internal operations and for offset operators. The information compiled was used to make recommendations to reduce operational risk going forward.Moved forward the completions engineering work for the Surmont 3 project prior to deferment due to the low price environment. Completed a cost benchmarking study and updated cost estimates to reduce uncertainty. Submitted completions portion of Supplemental Information Request to the AER in order to gain regulatory approval for the project.

    • Drilling Engineer
      • Jun 2013 - Jan 2015

Programmed and provided engineering support for drilling operations in the Duvernay, Bluesky, and Dunvegan plays.Designed and executed 8 well program in the Bluesky and Dunvegan plays. Managed $28MM budget for the program and delivered within 1% under AFE. Dramatically reduced drill times on Bluesky 4-Well Pad by eliminating intermediate casing and using new bit technology to reduce trips in the lateral. Assisted senior drilling engineer in planning and execution of 2013/2014 Duvernay 3 well exploration drilling program. Wells drilled successfully to provide further appraisal of the play.Responsibilities included offset reviews, risk assessments, directional planning, casing design, drill bit selection, cement design, torque and drag analysis, and cost estimating. Familiar with Halliburton/Landmark software package for well design including WellPlan (T&D, hydraulics), Compass (directional), and StressCheck (casing design).

    • Abandonment Engineer
      • May 2012 - Jun 2013

Programmed and provided engineering support for well abandonment operations throughout Alberta and BC.Programmed and executed the abandonment of 43 wells in accordance with AER and BCOGC regulations. Majority of operations were completed at or below AFE. Worked with AER and BCOGC to identify situations where non-routine abandonments were acceptable to deliver cost savings while meeting regulatory requirements.Completed cost evaluation studies on cement and wireline vendors for abandonments. This information was used to create a cost-estimating tool showing approximate costs for various vendors based on expected job parameters.

Assisted Senior Reservoir Engineer in an area evaluation of the Deep Basin Montney for an 8-month term.Evaluated an undeveloped area of the Montney based on offset operator analogous pools including the analysis of >200 wells. Using capital costs and price forecasting at the time, the pool was determined to be uneconomic and currently remains undeveloped. Conducted annual reserves review on >100 wells in NE BC with assistance of mentor. Updated several decline curves based on workovers and various changes over the previous year.
