I began my career as a software test engineer 1 at Sparkcognition under Will Baleson, and three years later, with his leadership, I felt I could lead a team. There is no better mentor or supervisor.

I count myself lucky as I got to experience a great manager and an even better mentor in Will. He always pointed me in the right direction and allowed me to freely express my work. He not only implemented a great process in our org for QA, which many followed suit but also set great examples for people to develop into leaders. I am where I am in my career because of an amazing mentor like him. His leadership, communication, and strong analytical skills are second to none.

At SparkCognition, I ran QA for the DeepArmor Cyber Security suite of products. Everything from architecting our automation frameworks, to leading an onshore/offshore team of analysts and test engineers, to working with product and development to make sure that what we were building was as good as it could possibly be. I'll flesh this out a little bit more next week, but it was a solid team of talented individuals that I'm glad I got to be a part of! At CoStar Group I was in charge of automated and manual testing for CoStar Real Estate Manager, an industry leading solution for commercial real estate lease management and accounting. I took over a team of 2 with very little automated testing and grew it into multiple teams with 90% automated test coverage as we updated our software to comply with the new FASB accounting requirements. I was responsible for implementing the entire QA process from the ground up in an audit-able fashion to comply with both SOC-2 and SOX requirements. I introduced BDD into our testing process and ran a really successful team that I'm still immensely proud of. Show less

At Promethean I led a global test team with staff in Atlanta, Seattle, Blackburn and Shenzhen. I set process for software/hardware testing across the company and architected both the automated and manual testing strategy for dozens of products ranging from tablets, interactive flat panels, set top boxes, drivers, multiple saas based web applications, and a variety of ios/android/windows mobile apps. I standardized defect and test case management/reporting across the engineering centers and in a nutshell herded cats to make sure that the testing and release management process was followed prior to product release and our test engineering efforts reflected modern frameworks and practices. Somehow I also found the time to continue to help my team be awesome at what they do and improve themselves. Show less

Architected and implemented new automated testing frameworks for both the front end and backend to support AT&T's wifi rollout for hotels/retail outlets/stadiums. Responsible for legacy c# applications, java spring based applications, and mobile applications. Worked with representatives from the support desk to handle triage/escalation of customer issues. Represented teams at an enterprise level scrum of scrums. Ran a mid-sized Software Test team primarily focused on the verification of embedded USB microcontrollers. Team was responsible for validating drivers, firmware, simulations, FPGA prototypes, along with being responsible for preproduction certification. I worked with development/product leadership to define/improve process and reporting, implement the ticketing system, and setup the automated testing framework.
