Bio
Simon Fisher
Stuart James Bridge was a pupil at the Willink School, Burghfield Common, Berkshire, from 1998 to 2005, where I knew him as his German teacher. He took and passed 11 GCSE exams and subsequently studied for, and passed the A-Level exams in German, French and Drama. In his time as a pupil he showed intellect, creativity and a high degree of organisation; he was a good team player but not afraid to lead when it was appropriate. Throughout his seven years at the Willink he took a full part in the extra-curricular side of school life - acting, singing and playing the piano in countless musical and dramatic productions; serving as a Lifeguard in the swimming pool; being a member of the School Council; and finally being elected by staff and pupils as Head Boy in his final year, a position which involved attendance at Governors' Meetings and liaising between the student body and the Senior Management Team, something which Stuart was able to do most effectively without losing the confidence of either side. In my long experience of teaching I remember Stuart as one of the relatively rare students who make a great and postive contribution to their school, and his subsequent academic success, following his pre-university year's work experience in Germany, has been pleasing and predictable.
