My time in Vest was probably my most ambitious and gratifying experience. I had the opportunity to shape and lead a real Product Team (Engineering and Design). A fintech like Vest (Retail investments) is a bit complicated in the sense that it's hard to put the product and features, even early versions in the hands of people because of industry regulations. Me and my team were responsible to create all the core aspects and features of the product that let us get a Broker-dealer licence and to comply with the FINRA auditing process in order to put Vest in the hands of our end users. Above all this we were able to create the smoothest buy-and-sell-stocks experience on the Latin American market, and that doesn't come from me, but from our user interviews and usability testing sessions. It makes me extremely proud. One of our biggest challenges was creating a simple Know Your Customer experience that was also in full compliance with all the aspects of the regulation for an Investment app that is also its own Broker-Dealer. To the day I parted, we were always figuring out new ways to make it easier and easier. I feel that Vest has the potential to become part of the fintech firmament, and the team still has my full support.   Lead the design and front-end decisions for our studio (4-7 people). In Mazing I was able to design and manage Koin, a smart-wallet/expense-tracker to help you get a grip on your personal finances. Koin was a great learning experience. It taught me the hardest truths on product development. If I could go back and make something different it would definitely be going out and get much more feedback from real potential users to pave our paths to Product Market Fit.
