Tested NGS library preparation reagents to ensure that the products met the QC functional test and acceptance criteria per SOP. Held extra responsibilities to contribute to the productivity of the team such as helping review documentation, perform FDA compliance audits, facilitated department meetings, and trained other team members on NGS assays. Performed in vitro cell culture experiments on human endothelial cells to identify molecular mechanisms that regulate pulmonary hypertension in sickle cell disease. Collaborated in clinical trials to help determine if natural anticoagulant can attenuate the progression of atherosclerosis. Worked alongside researchers to understand the underlying mechanisms involved in axonal transport. We wanted to elucidate how alterations in axonal transport contribute to the pathogenesis of Huntington’s and Parkinson’s disease. Executed extensive studies on neuron human cells in order to find JNK3 pathway targets and novel drug delivery methods. - Successfully managed spreadsheets of orders, experiments, equipment, consumables, and inventory for auditing purposes. - Driven to provide consistent and reliable results, by keeping detailed records on protocols. - Mastered cell culture, animal handling, chemical extractions, molecular and microbiological methods. - Experience in assisting with PowerPoint presentations.

Assisted principle investigator with identifying the role and characterizing protein, LIN-9, involved in cell cycle G1/S gene transcription and its implications in cancer. Through siRNA silencing of LIN-9, we tried to understand its interaction with pocket proteins, p107 & p130, as well as B-Myb, a central regulator of cell cycle progression. Performed various cell culture work with primary cells, such as HUVEC, and cancer cells, MCF-7& T98G. - Learned and executed various laboratory techniques such as tissue cell culture, plasmid extraction, Western blot, transfection, PCR genotyping, flow cytometry cell counting and bacterial transformation. - Collaborated with principle investigator to provide results to publish. - Mentored undergraduate students in basic laboratory techniques. - Displayed acumen in cell culture biology, designing and setting up cell cycle experiments.
