Saurabh managed the Architecture team for the Capital Region Welcome Center located in New Baltimore NY. He was also instrumental in assisting me with overall project coordination and management. He lead the Code Compliance effort and coordination of building services with all disciplines. His eye for detail during the design phase, quality checks during the subsequent QA/QC process and overall organizational ability helped the project team address coordination and design issues quickly during the accelerated design for this project. The project included an accelerated design and construction schedule with specific design requirements from multiple stakeholders in the project. Saurabh was always able to help guide the building design team to provide unique solutions that exceeded client expectations. During the construction phase of the project, he relocated to Portland, Oregon. Saurabh remained on the project team and while working remotely volunteered to work on an east coast schedule. He was also ready and willing to be available to respond to the client, contractor, and design team needs to keep the project on schedule. Saurabh was a great help with the Welcome Center Program in various roles and responsibilities. I appreciate all the time he gave to help the design team and me. His attention to detail and thoroughness to follow through helped to make the entire program a success. His dedication to the Capital Region project and entire Welcome Center Program, 3 years, in not always easy to find and was noticed and appreciated by both Stantec’s leadership and the client. I have seen him grow in leaps and bounds both as a Designer and Manager. Back in 2016, the Long Island Welcome Center had a significant scope change. Saurabh was brought on to the team due to his technical and building code analysis expertise. Saurabh was able to ramp up quickly and make an impactful contribution that allowed the project to stay on schedule. Specifically, he helped to develop the construction documents and successfully coordinated with the other internal disciplines and external consultants. The successful completion of the LIWC project helped Stantec win more NYS Welcome Center projects and expand the program across New York State. Saurabh’s role grew to Design Consistency Leader and QA/ QC manager for construction documents developed by all 7 WC teams. He was also assigned Project Manager on the Hudson Valley/ Catskills Welcome Center and ably assisted in project management of the Capital Region Welcome Center. His attention to detail, foresight and creative design solutions made the challenging welcome center program fun. He was always ready to step in and help across disciplines in our cross functional Stantec team. His practical solution-oriented approach has helped him make a meaningful contribution to all 7 WC project teams and help the program itself maintain design continuity. He has a balanced nature, soaking in new skills/ information with mentoring the younger staff to consistently deliver projects that exceed client expectations and enhance Stantec’s reputation as a leader in the Architectural and Engineering industry. He is also proactive in seeking and incorporating feedback to continue to developing his knowledge, leadership and personal capabilities to ensure constant career growth.
