Sophias House is a therapy clinic set up to help children with special needs. I am currently working using sensory integration to help children with special needs understand themselves and their environment. I am also studying for a Masters degree in Autism with Children in Birmingham and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy Diplomas in Bath. I am very passionate about my work and love every minute of it. Sophias House is a place where both children and their families can feel relaxed, gaining support from those around them. Show less

Within my current role as a team leader I manage a team of carers and carry out one to one supervisions bi monthly or more regularly if required. A key part of my role is to support our residents whilst promoting their independence, maintaining their dignity. To guide and support residents and to help them live as independently as possible. Protect their rights and promote their interests, establish and maintain their trust, promote their independence and protect them as far as possible from danger or harm, respect their rights and make sure that their behaviour does not harm themselves or other people. I liaise with residents, their families, their GP and other professionals such as the local mental health team, Speech and Language therapy team, physiotherapists and occupational therapists amongst others. One of my main responsibilities is assisting residents in the administration of their medication and ensuring that each resident has enough medication for the month. When medication changes I liaise with the Doctor and the Pharmacy to ensure that the residents needs are met. Show less
