Thorkild has that wonderful combination of being technically extremely capable, and has a great problem-solving and solution-oriented attitude putting the customer first. He displays a wonderful work ethic, has a great sense of humour, and quickly tends to become the goto-guy for most areas he touches, and then some. I'd hire him again in a jiffy.

Thorkild was brought onto critical issues when all other possible avenues of solution were exhausted. Every time he would dig far, far what was expected into the problem and was able to resolve the problem. An extremely broad understanding of technology ment he could be assigned to almost every problem. I think the weirdest problem he was able to resolve was finding a bug in the optimized JIT-compiler of the 1.3 IBM JVM. After N number of executions of a particular code path the JVM would try to optimize the path, sometimes corrupting the code resulting in a crashes on what seemed to be benign code. It took a few nights but he came through and saved the day.
