Carlo Enage
Yuan was the group leader of my UBC composite bridge team. Using her skills/abilities in structural design, stress analysis, Abaqus and OSU Laminates software, and great leadership, our bridge design was eventually selected and the only bridge in the class to be sent to the 2014 SAMPE Bridge Contest in Seattle. During fabrication of our bridge, we ran into problems that were out of our control. If it were not for Yuan, we would have not completed the bridge in time. To sum it up, Yuan went way beyond the call of duty and showed her leadership when she put in countless extra hours of work (when no one else could) including physical sweat inducing labor and ingeniously utilizing her sources to get the bridge ready. From my time working with Yuan, I have found she is determined, creative, resourceful, efficient, and a hard worker. It was an absolute pleasure working with Yuan.
