A large part of my role at AMSA involved analyzing data, generating reports, and offering ideas and advice on membership challenges and growth. My team and I collaborated in creating and managing an annual department budget and provided forecasts for executive reports and meetings. I spent a majority of my time maintaining routine communication with leaders, volunteers, and members of the association in assessing overall satisfaction, resolving complaints, and promoting new offerings that would improve membership experience. The bulk of managing communications included leveraging SalesForce to maintain current and accurate contact information for student members throughout the United States as well as for international students around the world. During my time with the association, I also worked with colleagues to successfully improve several communication and organizational processes within my department.

Congressional Intern

I served as the principal liaison between constituents of Florida’s 16th Congressional District and congressional staff members on Capitol Hill. I managed high volumes of communications on a daily basis in well over 100 phone calls, emails, and other forms of correspondence in a high pressure, fast-paced setting. I also served the team through researching, tracking, and cataloging legislative issues and attending numerous legislative and regulatory hearings from which I compiled relevant information that would assist in key decision making.

Interpretive guide via the Geoscientist in the Parks Program

I developed and led an interpretive program based on the natural processes that lead to the formation of the Oregon Caves system and the surrounding areas. Part of my internship involved assisting in research of the Grylloblatta campodeiformis population located in the cave system and educating the public about the species’ cave adaptations through daily instruction and guided walkabouts throughout the Oregan Caves National Monument & Preserve. College Program Intern

My experience with the Walt Disney World Company taught me the importance and impact of genuine connections. I coordinated with a diverse group of coworkers in ensuring high guest satisfaction and experience. After the first two months of the program I was promoted to stock assistant in which I worked with a team in transporting materials to and from designated storage areas and verifying quality and amounts for each product. While in this role I also volunteered on behalf of the company in the local community through Disney’s Voluntears program.
