Erik is not only a great thinker, designer, and head of the HCI/d program here at Indiana University, but a great friend and colleague to me and all his students. The book he co-authored with Harold Nelson "The Design Way" continues to inspire me and guide my thinking as a designer and as a thoughtful person workign to make this world a better place through the use of design.
