I worked as a part of a team with professors and post graduate students to create a smart phone application that allows a user to give verbal commands to a Franka Emika Robot Arm over a network instructing it to grasp and manipulate different objects. This is simulated in the 3D robotics simulator ‘Gazebo’ and then performed in real life on the physical device. By utilising mobile device data stored when a student or staff member logs into the campus WIFI, I used Unity engine to simulate the most likely path each person took around the campus to help identify points of congestion to alleviate foot traffic.
