Thang is skilled at implementing complex system control logic on LabView and Matlab platforms. Thang came to Fluidnet in order to help develop a control system in a LabView environment. When the development environment shifted from LabView into Matlab Thang demonstrated that he could quickly re-apply his experience to a new set of tools. Thang was the primary programmer in implementing a physical system simulation and state machine control logic using Matlab, Simulink, Simscape and StateFlow. His in-depth understanding of the nuances of the Matlab toolset as they applied to automated embedded code generation was invaluable.

Researches and develops software for automated control, test, and inspection systems. These applications help to reduce human tasks, increase the efficient, identify and correct manufacturing problems at the source, resulting in improved product quality, which lowers manufacturing costs. Delivers course instruction in LabVIEW and TestStand as certified National Instrument professional instructor. Key Accomplishments: • Programmed a flexible real time driver and applications for 3-Dimension laser depth camera. This help to support a wide range of device models with both fire wire I-1394 and Gigabit Ethernet protocol which reduce the prepare time for all projects implementing 3D Depth Camera technology. • Architected and develop non-touch connector inspection system. Non-touch technologies implement 3D depth camera help to eliminate completely the damage created by the test system on the Unit Under Test (UUT). The task utilizes the machine vision algorithm to measure the true pin height, and true pin position. • Architected multi test head and multi station assembly and inspection system. These systems ultimate multi motion control technology with surface visual inspection system (3D Depth Camera). There is also different test technology like vibration measurement, test insulation resistance, test HiPot, and test speed. • Supported to develop an airplane auxiliary power unit (APU) test bench for aviation test company. Develops LabVIEW software for a PXI ARINC429 card to replace a third-party tool, which uses combine with previous test system. This helps to make system fully automatic that make the test more efficient and reduce the test time significantly.

Responsible for researching and implementing the algorithms and production code for control IV pump device. This system implements the small-scale, low-pressure pneumatic and hydraulic dynamics system. All of the codes are written and maintained follow FDA guidance for Class II medical devices. Key Accomplishments: • Research and redevelop the control algorithm by using Matlab Stateflow. The new system implemented in Stateflow is used as a source to generate production code helped to cut the developing to a half. This method also helps to provide updated document about the system specification. • Built a completed new system using both Matlab and LabVIEW allowing doing both simulations and controlling real device at the same time. Worked with Mathwork consultant to develop a model base of IV pump device using SimsCape and SimsHydraulics. This system is used for researching and analyzing efficiently, which helps to understand more clearly about the system characteristic as well as help to correcting and improving the control algorithm. • Collaborate with test engineers and electronics engineers to build test applications. These products are used later as in-house testing tools to support developing the mainline product efficiently and inexpensive. (LabVIEW) • Supported and developed the software to control prototype pump through wifi communication. This software helps to shorten the first phase of researching and developing product. (LabVIEW)

Responsible for project architecture which includes researching and developing different types of simulator systems. These are software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop simulators which simulate different agricultural vehicle platforms as well as utility equipments. These systems are used as in-house systems to support engineers from different departments in researching, developing, and testing the main product lines of the company. All programs are written by LabVIEW. Key Accomplishments: • Cooperating with system, embedded, and testing engineers from start to end of the project in the role of simulator developer. This helps to produce successful multi-function simulator systems which can be used efficiently at different level of the project life cycle from design to maintenance other than supporting only a specific testing department compared with old method. • Researched and developed a CAN virtual server which helps to communicate between multiple software applications as well as real controllers. The server provides a robust and high performance for all of applications need to communication through CAN. • Designed a VI Server structure which helped integrating easily all existed independent simulators with NI TestStand for automatic test purpose. This reduced about 120-hours compared with reconstructing a command module per each simulator. • Reduced by fifty percentage of the testing sequence for new guidance software by developing of dual CAN-channel function. This feature allows regression testing on two versions of system at a time.

Served as key engineer in a technology consultant firm providing custom and packaged IT solutions for oil & gas industry companies in Texas and Louisiana area. Responsible for complete life cycle development of different projects from meeting customer to acquire the project requirements to deliver, setup, and test phase. Architected many large scale projects with specify in implementing LabVIEW object-oriented programming technology. Researched and implemented newest technology to provide critical requirements of customer companies. Key Accomplishments: • Developed a sub-sea control system which controls and monitors of multiple subsea valve X’mas trees. The system is developed on a flexible and robust PXI platform. The program was implemented the DSC Shared Variable Engine Sever to enhance real-time distributed monitoring, controlling, as well as logging data features. (LabVIEW, DSC Engine) • Developed an oversea satellite tracking system implementing the satellite communication, GPS technology, RFID, and DC measurement for low power consumption purpose. The software is implemented on the embedded system with Window CE. DC measurement process uses the NI PXI-4071 digital multimeter to analyze the leakage current, power consumption, and internal resistance. This system had a strict requirement of low power consumption for independent power supply in oversea shipping purposes. (C++) • Built the architecture for an application which acquires data from wireless vital signs monitoring device and sends the reference instructions for treatment to support doctor in critical condition. This system is implemented in rugged tablet PC used by the military. (LabVIEW) • Researched and implemented the Modbus Server on real-time Compact FieldPoint device which helps to connect this data logging module compatibility into existing data acquisition network monitored by PI Server.
