  My HAVI career started in Hong Kong, where I led the start-up of a Communications capability for HAVI's legacy Logistics Service Line. I was also a member of the Global Logistics Leadership Team. In my role I was responsible for leading the strategic internal and external communication effort with a scope covering 45 countries, 9,000 employees, and 200+ customers. I also worked as HAVI's Communications Lead on the McDonald's Global Logistics Council. During the last three years of my career at HAVI, I led Global Marketing Services for HAVI's Supply Chain Business. Initially, I reported to the Chief Commercial Officer and then to the SVP of Strategy and Digital Development. As a leadership team member, I led efforts across the business on Market Research, Brand Management, Customer Communications, and Sales Enablement. Key highlights included setting up a product marketing capability for the business with the Chief Commercial Officer and Product Management team. During my time with Strategy and Digital Development leadership team, I was most proud of our work inside the team in owning our space and leading various strategic and digital initiatives. Outside the role, I was actively involved and co-chaired an employee resource group on gender equality and equity called GENIE and worked with younger talent as a mentor and coach within the day-to-day work environment.

  In total, my time at DHL spanned 14 years and was a key highlight in my career and life, where many networks are still in place today, and long-lasting friendships have been made. Such was the DHL culture. During my time with the company, I developed a unique blend of expertise focused on internal and external marketing communications, change and project management, and training development and delivery. Career highlights included working as Global Head of Communications for the sales division responsible for DHL’s top 100 customers worldwide and later as the Head of Sales Training for DHL Express in Asia Pacific.

  The formative years of my career were all about learning the ropes, gaining experiences and as many different ones as possible. My first job was as a Junior Secretary at the young age of 19. DHL provided the perfect environment to learn and grow; if you had ambition and delivered, the sky was the limit. I left in 1995 to move back to South Africa and got involved in Hotel Management for three years before returning to Europe and rejoining DHL in 1998 for ten more years.
