Warehouse Manager
-
Mar 2007 - Aug 2011
I accepted responsibility for the Central Warehouse six months into the fiscal year. During this time, sales dollars increased 20% and inventory turns increased 9% over the previous year’s management. I was responsible for the Central Warehouse, Department of Supply, Central Shipping & Receiving, Gas Cylinder Rentals, Custodian for the warehouse vehicles, and General Services which includes: departmental moves, deliveries, and table & chair rentals. Employee Accomplishments •Implemented the Warehouse Knowledge Initiative, where employees are trained on the items that are sold every day to provide more knowledgeable customer service. •Constructed employee flow charts for not only cross training purposes, but also to show empathy for all tasks and also to see where each person fits into the mission/vision statements of the Warehouse, Physical Plant, TTU. Warehouse Accomplishments •I moved the warehouse “green” by: making sure all paints are low VOC, looking for Green Seal Certified and Green Seal Approved, and by working to stock products that are organic, recycled, and earth friendly that meet the same standards as current products. •95.73% accuracy rate Purchasing Accomplishments •The warehouse captured $1,950,000 over previous manger’s spend towards Historically Underutilized Businesses, and lowering the cost of those purchases by $67,065 in the process. HUB capture was at 13%,raised to 63%. Physical Plant & Campus Accomplishments •I was invited to speak at the Big 12 Housing Conference with the topic being; Bar coding and warehousing. •Invited to speak to the American Surgical Association on behalf of SciQuest (higher markets) with the topic of SciQuest’s Supplies Manager Module: Do they need it? •I was tasked by the AVP for Operations to find an inventory management that will be compatible with Banner and SciQuest. After extensive research I found the most cost effective and compatible software. I successfully presented my findings to TTU upper management. Show less
