Interned with the Project Managers in the Facilities and Planning department for campus as they were in the planning phase for building a new multimillion dollar parking structure and sought to standardize campus fixtures and signs. As part of my responsibilities, I estimated cost of materials and cross referenced the values to the bids of vendors. Reviewed scope of work for accuracy and robustness. Worked with local government to ensure compliance with building codes. I created documents for project standardization. Overall, this was good experience in the planning and management of large-scale multi-phase projects.

App Developement Teacher

Orange County Department of Education connected with University of California, Irvine to teach middle school students about app development as part of the S.T.E.M. Initiative. My responsibilities as a mentor included developing a curriculum with a team to teach computer logic to students, planning modules to teach different concepts, and tutoring students as they designed their app. This was a great opportunity to learn how to teach complicated concepts in a simple manner, and to coach people through learning a new skill. Communication skills were vital.
