An exciting new festival for Fife which took place on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th August 2017, Defend Dunfemline WWII/Obrona Miasta Dunfermline Festival celebrated the recently uncovered defence plans for the town, drawn up by the allied Polish Army. Around 2000 visitors learned about the heritage of the Polish Armies and Home Guard during WWII through street theatre, pop-up exhibitions, living history, dancing and crafts.
