  Designs and edits clients’ artwork to make it press ready. Applies expertise in vector art, color correction, trapping, color separating, step and repeating of digital artwork. Creates analog (film) plates for Flexographic printing presses with a very low error rate, which reduces production costs. Established standard operating procedures to improve production workflow, ensure product quality and reduce waste. Actively participates in production meetings using production expertise to recommend proper equipment, scheduling and prioritization of jobs to reduce downtime. Quality checks art files and proofs for accuracy and consistency of graphic elements across related files. Conducts print quality checks to ensure quality standards are met. Labels and archives final graphic files to facilitate retrieval for future use.Operated Mark Andy narrow-web and Webtron flexographic presses. Demonstrating high attention to detail and accuracy, consistently produced error-free work. Produced pressure sensitive printed labels in up to 10 colors using a variety of ink types and substrates. Followed stringent quality assurance procedures to ensure a superior finished product to meet client needs. Efficiently set up print jobs including inks, substrate and mounting the plates. Ensured that everything was ready for the Press Operator to start the print job. Took initiative to organize ink and substrate inventory system. Established and documented Standard Operating Procedures and encouraged employee compliance. Cross-trained in Shipping and Receiving to cover during employee absences and peak periods; scheduled daily pickups and deliveries with multiple parcel carriers. Promoted to Press Operator due to quick grasp of print knowledge and eagerness to learn new skills. Helped train the new Set Up person to shorten the learning curve. Show less
