Jeremy and I worked together in the mechanical R&D performance test group at Dexcom. We collaborated to create test fixtures used to assess new characteristics of early-stage product design. Jeremy is a very bright mechanical engineer. Among his professional skills, his strongest skill was in creating electro-mechanical control systems; many people treated him as their go-to for help with their Labview code and/or control system setup. He was instrumental in creating a control system for a vacuum pump/vacuum oven and also a control system for automation of a compressive test system that incorporated extensive XY-stage controls. A rare quality that Jeremy has is his ability to think outside the box. He always offers creative solutions to problems that many people wouldn't have thought to try. All in all, Jeremy is a great joy to work with and I am grateful for the work collaboration I have had with him. He has helped me a lot with fine-tuning test methods, fixture design, and prototyping. I hope to work with him again in the future.

I started working with Jeremy in the fall of 2012 at GE Oil and Gas, where we were both Lab Engineers. He recently had completed his Edison rotations and we started working on test development projects together. He has excellent engineering skills, and a keen intuition for correctly solving difficult problems. Some of the hardest problems to solve involve electro-mechanical, combined with software methods and he is the person I could count on to deliver the goods. Jeremy is one of the few engineers I have met that is self-taught - he will research an issue and develop the skill sets needed to be successful. I was a witness to his rapid learning of National Instruments LabVIEW tools for instrumentation and controls within the Lab at GE. He has since moved on to be an expert LabVIEW engineer. He is very process oriented and this is an asset to any successful organization. Jeremy would be a strong asset to any company that needs to solve automation of control systems for testing and operation.

Develop LabVIEW applications to control and collect data from portable life support system test stands for product qualification. Applications include long-term life testing with headless operation, automated part testing, sensor calibration systems, data analysis tools, and remote test monitoring capabilities using TCP/IP. Parse Portable Life Support System (PLSS) telemetry and create user interfaces to best display the data. The interfaces I created were adopted project-wide as the standard tools used to log, display, and interpret PLSS telemetry. Develop automated test systems to increase test throughput and enable long-term validation and qualification testing. Mentor other LabVIEW engineers in best practices for test stand software development and troubleshoot legacy test systems. Advise on software, electrical, and pressure system safety for automated high pressure testing. Show less

Designed and implemented the electrical, mechanical, and software systems used to automate benchtop simulations of in-vivo product conditions using LabVIEW-based interfaces. Earned Certified LabVIEW Architect certification in the process. Integrated disparate pieces of test equipment (SMU, leak tester, Instron, Texture Analyzer, XY stage, etc.) using various communication methods (digital, analog, RS232, Modbus, VISA) to enable automated testing. Used Solidworks to design mechanical test fixtures that interface with electromechanical equipment and earned Certified Solidworks Professional certification. Created test protocols, operations manuals, CAD assemblies, BOMs, and validation methods for test fixtures. Led the implementation of Git source control for all software projects and shared best practices for software architectures for automation and data acquisition projects. Show less

Lead Lab Automation Engineer in Advanced Technology Organization (ATO) Lab, a prototype testing lab specializing in pressure, load, and temperature tests for new oil & gas equipment. Responsible for automating testing, data acquisition, and improving lab processes.Designed and implemented testing systems including: hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, control software, user interface, connectivity to automate dozens of qualification tests, saving hundreds of man hours. Used LabVIEW with Compact RIO to automate testing with feedback-based control and data acquisition and earned LabVIEW Certified Developer certification.Identified issues with existing lab processes and designed and implemented new systems including test request workflow, warehouse parts database, and sensor calibration database. These databases increased traceability of parts and sensor data, and the workflow handled over 500 test requests for the lab.Developed novel leak detection system software to measure volume of leaked gas automatically, enabling automated overnight testing, doubling testing speed, and increasing leakage measurement accuracy.Advised technicians with technical aspects of testing throughout lab. Held LabVIEW trainings for partner labs and mentored several young engineers in lab processes and automation systems. Performed design verification calculations to ensure test readiness and safety of test fixtures/setups. Show less
