- Ensure that the Library's robust virtual presence is user-friendly, functional, and up-to-date. - Maintain the various components of the Library's virtual presence, including: Libguides, LibCal, LibAnswers, LibStaffer, and LibWizard; Library section of the RDC website; Library section of the RDC online portal (The Loop). - Train staff to use the various components of the Library's virtual presence. - Provide leadership for and maintain the Library’s social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). - Plan, organize, promote, and carry out events in the Library. - Lead communications and marketing initiatives for the Library, including branding and promotions. - Member of the Library & Student Supports Operational leadership team. - Provide leadership through work on specific projects. - Provide excellent, proactive customer service to students, faculty, staff, and community members. As one of seven elected Trustees with Red Deer Catholic Regional School Board, I participate in: - governing a school division that includes over 10,500 students in 21 schools in 6 communities (Red Deer, Blackfalds, Sylvan Lake, Rocky Mountain House, Olds, and Innisfail), and that employs over 1000 teaching, administrative, and support staff; - overseeing a $100M budget - setting strategic goals and priorities for the Division; - making and enforcing policies; - negotiating Collective Agreements with local ATA and CUPE - communicating with, informing, and involving stakeholders; - advocating for Division needs to the Minister of Education, MLAs, and the provincial government; - engaging with other elected officials (Mayors, City/Town Councils, other Trustees, etc.); - adjudicating policy or decision appeals; - hiring and evaluating the Superintendent.
