      As youth sports coordinator for the City of Antwerp and BRABO swimming club, a collaboration between several Antwerp swimming clubs, my goals were (i) the development, implementation and monitoring of a long term development plan, (ii) talent detection and (iii) coaches education. Challenging tasks given the fact that each of the clubs has his own identity, vision, work ethic and context and is run for 95% by volunteers. The hardest road I had to travel was that of the management and supervision of these clubs and their 145 coaches and convincing them to work with the same technical and strategic plan, sharing the same pools, using the same self-developed progress tracking system for swimmers starting at the age of 4 years and especially to share the same vision on recreational and competitive swimming.
