In charge of all copyright licensing & clearance processes for the North American business units of the fourth largest record label group in the recording industry, including all label imprints in US & Canada, joint ventures and 3rd party distributed labels. • Oversaw the licensing of copyright royalties in excess of $50MM annually. Instituted strategies that reduced company’s unlicensed liability across all distribution methods by over 75% in a 3 year period. • Established company’s first New Media royalty process by instituting new procedures for the licensing and royalty departments that resulted in several years of back-end royally liability to be paid out and avoided potentially costly audit and litigation for the company. • Managed the development of EMI Canada’s new licensing system and processes based on the DDEX standard to comply with terms of the industry class action settlement. • Counseled the Legal, Digital Development, and Business Affairs departments on copyright matters to ensure all new business models are effectively implemented into internal systems and processes.
