Manchester Cares aim to bridge social divides, create long lasting friendships and to strengthen communities by delivering programmes which bring younger and older neighbours together.As Head of Programmes I lead the team who are responsible for delivering more than 12 social clubs per month, plus a programme of one-to-one friendships between isolated older neighbours and young professionals and a vital outreach and volunteer function. I manage key relationships with our corporate, council and community partners and oversee and coordinate content to our community network of volunteers and older neighbours. I manage national projects feed into the strategy of the organisation as part of the Senior Management Team. As Designated Safeguarding Lead I ensure that safeguarding, welfare and wellbeing are paramount.
