    • Tanker Projects & Term Chartering
      • Jun 2019 - Present

My role affords me the following responsibilities: • Building a client portfolio consisting of Charterers & Owners involved in the tanker sector - across both crude & distillate markets. • Develop term (period) contracts for either speculative market plays or for fixed rate coverage against acquisitioned or newly-built vessels - including crude, product and gas carriers. • Negotiate equitable contract clausing on shipbuilding side (i.e. SBC), chartering side (e.g. ShellTime) & acquisition side (e.g. NSF). • Provide pricing/rate estimates for time-charters & vessel acquisitions/new-builds based on market last-done(s), spot market performance and micro/macro factors that may impact oil/gas markets & subsequently tanker markets/tonne miles: demand-side & supply-side - e.g .tonnage availability/orderbook, refinery maintenance, backwardated/contango futures curves. • Written my own approx. 50-page oil shipping guidebook.

    • Tanker Operations Lead (Distillates)
      • Jul 2018 - Jun 2019

My role afforded me the following responsibilities: • Operate movement of petroleum distillates & feedstocks, generally operating in the range of between 20-35 vessels at a time. • Taught a further two operators & built a team for a higher vessel coverage threshold. • Ensure smooth operation and coordination with relevant counterparty agents to ensure placement of cargoes, financial security (especially on charters agreed BBB basis), and payment of all necessary disbursement accounts. • Negotiating and implementing solutions to challenges encountered during operations, regularly updating ship positions (itinerary/positions/bunkering), and other operational information; & reviewing cargo B/L details.

    • Research Services
    • 700 & Above Employee
    • Computer-Science & Digital Humanities (Python) Research Fellow
      • Jun 2017 - Sep 2017

Research responsibilities included: • Joined a team of academics at KCL to create a prototype web-platform for the university which matched researchers to aid in collaborative works. • Tasked with creating a user-matching algorithm by which the platform would function, which was done using Python and a recursive ‘divide-and-conquer’ algorithmic approach. • Empire Chemical Tanker Holdings Inc.
    • Azores, Portugal - Atlantic Ocean Charter
    • Tanker Crew Member (Clean Distillates)
      • Jul 2016 - Aug 2016

During this experience I undertook the following: • Actively involved in vessel duties on both deck and bridge, learnt the functionalities of chemical tanker operations including navigation and pilotage of the vessel, management of the crew and maintaining the sustenance of the main engine. Furthermore, learnt components of the law of the sea and safety procedures for voyages. • Education of mid-level petroleum distillates such as NAP, JET A1, GO & UMS to name a few due to either the cargoes being carried onboard at the time or the teachings of the shipmaster, officers or engineers.
