Joined the BioNano research group in the final year of my undergraduate studies to undertake a project seeking to test and evaluate hydrogels for their capacity to aid neural regeneration in vitro. I initially joined iCeutica as an intern after being awarded a $7000 summer scholarship from the WA state government to carry out research with a local company. This was further extended into a research assistant role upon fulfillment of the scholarship. • Gained an understanding of the drug formulation process through the reformulation of Naproxen using the company’s SoluMatrix technology. - Data generated assisted the company in optimising its SoluMatrix technology. - Project success aided the company’s subsequent sale in 2011 at 10x its original value.• Analysed samples for contaminants using analytical methods such as HPLC.• Secondary responsibilities included upkeep of company experimental records and weekly presentations of research findings.
