As a manager in this position I am responsible for making sure the company remains in compliance with the Department of Transportation which would include the following: maintain driver qualification files compliant with DOT and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations; maintain standards for safety management systems; drug and alcohol testing; make sure all electronic logs, books, DVIR’s, hours of service are correct, file any corrective measures by coach and counseling operator; monthly safety updates to all drivers; coordinate quarterly safety meetings; work with recruiting to ensure driver’s possess the proper knowledge skills and abilities (KSA’s) to perform the job; proctor safety orientations for new contractors; process new contractor orientation packets; assist in the development of new employees; maintain 1099 owner operator contracts, identify proof of insurance and client specific requirements; maintain regulatory compliance relating to contract agreement, HIPPA, medical transport certifications, immunizations, and customer specific needs such as flu shots, and Covid-19; travel to the various locations throughout the Midwest to be sure we maintain the same standards as the corporate location requires.
