As the Director of Marketing and Communications I provided strategy and content for all marketing media channels for the organization: website design, content, and edits - social media content and management through Social Studio and Hootsuite - advertising designs and scripts - graphic designs using Adobe or Canva - public relations: press releases, scripts/talking points, and coordination of interviews - email marketing plan and content using MailChimp - event management: print materials, public relations, graphic design, messaging, and communication plans. All these items were then tracked and reported in excel to reflect the analytics month to month in order to pivot messaging if needed. As Director I managed the marketing budget of $90,000 as well and stayed on track to stay within budget. I was also the staff liaison for our 10 person marketing committee that consisted of marketing professionals that volunteered and were often from our Board of Directors. I was the staff member the intertwined with every department to provide efficient and effective communication of the United Way brand. Show less

    • Sales Manager
      • Dec 2017 - Feb 2019

I managed the Corporate, Wedding, Sports Teams, Medical, Motorcoach tours, and SMERF (Social, Military, Education, Reunion & Fraternal Organizations) market segments. Park Place Hotel has 9 meeting rooms and a conference center that seats 500 people, all of these I booked for and coordinated with clients for their events and lodging. I managed the Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages for the property as well. The largest goal was to drive revenue while creating long lasting business partnerships with previous, existing, and future clients through drop-ins, sales calls, and cold calls. By providing a proposal and securing each group with a contract we promoted not only this property but the Grand Traverse County Area. Show less

  • The Cheney Place
    • Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan Area
    • Wedding Coordinator
      • Jan 2017 - Apr 2017

Primarily the events that were hosted through the months that I interned were Weddings. A major grip on the experience with working Weddings is something I have always desired. I performed opening duties that made the venue up to par for an event & I setup decor for each event as well as tore out the decor after the event. I also worked with computer programs such as 7 Hats, Dropbox, The Knot, etc. in order to properly have each clients profile/folders up to date. The most important lessons I learned came from assisting in coordinating each wedding, from the ceremony to the end of the reception. Show less
