Reporting to the Group MD, I was responsible for the unit's revenue generation, bottomline performance, sales and marketing, programme development and projects delivery. I led and managed both the unit's sales team and operations team. Being in a Group with 7 business units, the role also required me to work closely with other unit directors and team leaders to achieve synergy and ensure that the group's brand continue to inspire credibility in the industry. The unit had grown from contributing 25% of the group revenue in 2011 to more than 50% of the group revenue in 2015. As the HOD of PE, I was the primary driver of the physical education programme including sports skills, physical health and fitness of the students in the school, co-curricular activities and participation, inter-schools sports competitions, schools events and physical safety of the students. Handling events on a school wide basis allowed me to work with teachers from all departments and also parents.One of the most memorable achievement in the school was the creating of the Outdoor Education programme for the whole school (Primary 1 to Primary 6). This programme provided every student in the school with an outdoor experiential programme from half day programmes to a 3 Days 2 Nights overseas camp. Doing both Sales and Operations, the role had taken me from working on one brand (Insight Vacations) to 3 brands within the Travel Corporation Group - Insight Vacations, Contiki Holidays and Busabout. Being a new brand, I was given the rare opportunity to develop the business for Busabout in Asia. During my tenure, Busabout was made available as an alternative for young budget travellers to Europe in most Asian countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and the Philippines).
