1. AS A QUICK RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, introduced "DIY Taxes with Screen Sharing (Google Meet)" as an option to do taxes without contact between vulnerable taxpayers and volunteers. The program was rolled out nationally by a volunteer team I led within a month with 500+ volunteers from 37 States and helped 13,000+ taxpayers. 2. USED BEHAVIORAL ECONOMICS MESSAGING (e.g. Social Norms Pressure and Anchoring), WHICH HELPED ENCOURAGE 34,000 TAXPAYERS to save their tax refunds. 3. MANAGED THE VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP AND VOLUNTEERS IN GREAT LAKES, which produces the most number of taxpayers helped in Tax-Aide. 4. SERVED AS STAFF LIAISON FOR THE NATIONAL TAX TRAINING COMMITTE, helping training experts (volunteers) train thousands of local volunteers in the US. - Show less

CREATED A "STEP-UP LOAN PROGRAM" with an aim to decrease loan denials and increase lending in the Metro DC area and Baltimore. 4. IN-CHARGE OF OPERATING A MICRO-FINANCE PROGRAM for refugees, asylees, and immigrants in the Metro DC area, so they have more options for self-sufficiency in their new country. 5. PROVIDED TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ON BUSINESS AND CREDIT to thousands of low-income individuals, including immigrants, refugees, asylees. Created a curriculum, which includes saving, budgeting, credit improvement, etc. 6. STARTED A TAX CONTROVERSY CLINIC in the Metro DC Area to help low-income individuals with tax issues with the IRS. 7. IMPLEMENTED A FREE TAX PREPARATION PROGRAM (VITA) which has helped more than 8,000+ clients take home $7.5 million in refunds and $2.1 million in earned income credits with the help of 100+ volunteers. 8. ASSISTED UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS and those ineligible for Social Security Numbers to report their taxes and participate in the US economy. 9. CREATED A "DO IT YOURSELF (D.I.Y) TAX PROGRAM" to coach clients to prepare their own taxes.
