KNPI Water Supply Project (US$254Million) This project included comprehensive design and construction of a water supply system spanning 300km², serving a population exceeding 700,000. The scope involved the development of transmission and distribution pipe networks, 27 service reservoirs, 22 pump station facilities, and the enhancement of the water treatment plant infrastructure. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: • Conducted comprehensive data analysis to forecast potable water demand distribution, assess growth rates, and develop future-proof demand projections. • Utilized WaterGEMS software and GIS data to design precise water distribution systems, achieving both cost-effective construction and energy-efficient functionality, and produced comprehensive engineering reports. • Employed GIS techniques, incorporating lidar data, DEMs, and survey insights, to strategically optimize reservoir siting and boundary delineation. The outcome: heightened operational efficiency and reduced energy expenditure. • Conducted site evaluations, ensuring construction viability, and identifying environmental and social constraints vital to water infrastructure development. • Analysed specifications, ensured compliance with codes, and prepared cost estimates, resulting in optimized resource allocation and adherence to quality standards. • Monitored progress, proactively addressing delays and issues. • Adapted to design changes, providing innovative proposals for efficient execution of construction activities while maintaining project objectives. • Collaborated closely with stakeholders, including the Project Director, project managers, engineering teams, contractors (construction), regulatory and other government authorities. • Delegated responsibilities, monitored subordinates' progress, and managed overall construction sites and projects, ensuring efficient execution within agreed schedules and budgetary constraints. Climate Resilience Improvement Project (US $152Million | Funded by World Bank) The main objective of the project was to reduce the vulnerability of exposed people and assets to climate risk (flood, drought and landslide). The project consisted of multiple packages including consultancy service contracts for hydrological modelling and multiple civil construction contracts targeted on infrastructure development. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: • Conducted technical due diligence, ensuring accuracy and compliance of construction designs and estimates. • Upheld standards and quality during design and construction, working with implementing agencies. • Developed bid documents and contracts, optimizing procurement processes for works, goods, and services. • Reviewed and provided prior-clearance for procurement documents, to ensure adherence to regulations. • Monitored contract performance, reporting on procurement, construction progress, and financial aspects. • Coordinated with stakeholders including local and international contractors, heads of implementation units, World Bank representatives and the Project Director to revise work programs and budgets, ensuring alignment. • Maintained meticulous records for the contracts, ensuring organized documentation and effective management. • Conducted field inspections for site safety and environmental safeguards, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance.
