National Sales Manager

I was accountable for overseeing the inside and outside sales force of a growing medical manufacturer and distributor. As the first sales manager at the company, I was able to develop reports and sales contests that matched my managerial style. The company was relatively young at the time I accepted the National Sales Manager title, allowing me to get involved on the ground floor of the sales and marketing efforts. The company was relatively young at the time I accepted the National Sales Manager title, allowing me to get involved on the ground floor of the sales and marketing efforts. I was able to work closely with upper management on developing sales goals and quotas for the sales staff and the company. Training new employees that I would then manage on a day to day basis was also a large part of my responsibility. Over the course of my time as National Sales Manager, the company was listed on Inc. Magazines list of fastest growing companies in the U.S. three times. I cherish the experience I gained as National sales manager, and I am very proud of the accomplishments the company achieved while I held the position. I still handle some of the daily sales responsibilities, with the majority of my focus on my new position in business development, expanding into new products and markets.

Business Area Manager

Jun 2008 - Jul 2009
As one of the first three sales reps at Sunset Healthcare Solutions, I was given a large geographic territory that had been undeveloped, and contained a small number of customers. The company had already seen success with it's business model, and brought on myself and two others as dedicated inside sales reps. It was the the opportunity I was looking for, and had so much potential. The company had already seen success with it's business model, and brought on myself and two others as dedicated inside sales reps. It was the the opportunity I was looking for, and had so much potential. In the course of the first year I was able to surpass all sales goals and establish a strong book of business. An outside sales rep was brought on that I worked very closely with at the time, and still do to this day. We continued to thrive off of each other, and our original book of business is now amongst the top in the company. As business area manager at such a young time in the company's history, I was able to get my hands on many aspects of the business. From lead generation to catalog creation, website design and even packing orders. The success that my territory saw eventually lead to a very exciting promotion to National Sales Manager. Success as Business Area Manager included exceeding quarterly goals 5 quarters in a row, increasing territory sales by 67% in 6 months, implementing the company's first sales tracker, and developing a relationship with our first fulfillment center. I was also part of managing and designing custom labeling that ultimately set our company apart from our competitors.

Territory Manager

Feb 2006 - May 2008
I started out at Ecolab as a territory manager, fresh out of college. My first position with the company was in warewashing. I was responsible for the sales and service of a million dollar territory that was comprised of restaurants and hotels in the metro Detroit area. As I progressed at Ecolab, I accepted a promotion into the "H" district, which increased my potential for larger customers. As I progressed at Ecolab, I accepted a promotion into the "H" district, which increased my potential for larger customers. I was now calling on Hotels, Hospitals and nursing homes which gave me a new line of products to sell. I achieved my sales goals, and my best quarter landed me as top 6 in the region in sales to goal. While in the "H", I oversaw scheduling of 8 other employees. Territory Managers at Ecolab are on call every 8 weekends, and I was in charge of scheduling the weekends for these employees. Building strong relationships with my customers and seeing them in person multiple times a month lead to my success at Ecolab. I still stay in touch with many of the people that I met at Ecolab, and I value the experience I gained in cold calling and btb sales. Show less
