Bio
Mary-Anne Vetterling
Ebeny Jazelle Torres is an absolutely amazing person who puts her heart and soul into everything she does. I was her faculty mentor and professor during the end of her Freshman year through her Junior Year at Regis College, a small co-ed Catholic university in the Boston suburb of Weston, MA. It is a school where professors and students work closely and get to know one another well and where opportunities abound. Ebeny was one of the very best students I encountered at Regis throughout my thirty-three years at that school. A woman blessed with many talents, she diligently put together a stellar combination of courses that will serve her well in life and in whatever career she chooses. She was the recipient of a very prestigious Erat Scholarship, which made it possible for her to study with a select group of Regis students and perform concerts with them in Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Ireland. She went to Peru on a Spring-Break Service trip to a disadvantaged village. She spent both a summer and a fall semester studying in Argentina. She took full advantage of the off-campus experiences the college offered her and gained an international perspective on the world, something that is crucial for success in the twenty-first century. At Regis she was in the Honors Program, and had the opportunity to work with other talented students at the college and challenge herself academically. She was a member of the Regis Glee Club and also of its prestigious Chamber Singers, where her beautiful singing voice greatly enhanced all the performances of the group. She was also active in Campus Ministry and in a number of extra-curricular activities, while holding down a wide variety of jobs both on and off the college campus. She took two courses with me:
Erica Devine, M.Ed.
I had the pleasure of working with Ebeny while she was a student leader at Regis College. While studying at the institution, Ebeny was heavily involved in clubs and organizations as well as held multiple positions on campus such as a tour guide and work study student. She also participated in service trips at Regis, including an Alternative Spring Break trip to Villa El Salvador, Peru, where I got to know her better. Ebeny is a compassionate, strong willed young woman with a bubbly personality. She is a hard worker who is committed to producing the best work possible. Ebeny was also an on-air DJ for WRGS, Regis Radio, where she worked very hard to create a fun and engaging show that students grew to love. Her positive attitude and bright smile was a joy to have around campus and in the office each day. Ebeny would be a wonderful asset to any company who is lucky to hire her.

When all research was completed, I presented my research findings to groups of professors and The American Chemical Society at Seton Hall University. Show less
