Residential Support Worker (Sessional)
-
Jun 2009 - Dec 2009
Initially commencing work with the probation service as a volunteer mentor, I progressed to a role as a sessional support worker within various approved premises within Teesside. Where I supported and monitored adult offenders who had recently been released from prison, but were deemed too much of a risk to be released straight into the community. Accurate and timely documentation was essential, since this would be required to be called upon in court if required. Therefore, strict guidelines were maintained. Caldecott guidelines and confidentiality rules were followed at all times. Monitoring risk from the offenders, to staff, and the general public was also of high importance. This highlighting the necessity of accurate documentation, and liaising with authorities such as their offender manager, police, and housing.
