I had the pleasure of working with Rick for eight years across a range of roles in OBS and Empired. As a Business Analyst, he demonstrated solid business acumen and a strong ability to look at technology solutions through the eyes of different types of users. A keen customer advocate, he would cut straight to the root of an issue to ensure a swift resolution that satisfied competing priorities. As Partner and Portfolio Manager, Rick excelled in informing colleagues about how to leverage organisational partners to the best effect. He would receive barrages of requests relating to a broad set of challenges and would always go the extra mile to achieve the right outcome. He was often the pivotal point in successful deals ranging up to multi-million dollar engagements. As Innovation Solutions Manager, Rick led and co-ordinated dispersed resources to develop and rapid prototype solutions and brands such as Cohesion and Formplicity, which was accepted into Microsoft’s CSP program. In this role he was often balancing the creativity of product development innovation within the constraints of technology solutions. Rick is highly personable, always trustworthy, and he imparts a positive and enthusiastic influence on his customers and colleagues. I hope that I get the opportunity to work with him again in the future, and I thoroughly recommend him for any role that he seeks.

I have worked with Rick in his role as Vendor Manager, both at Empired and previously OBS, for over four years. As a senior consultant for Empired I have had close interaction with Rick, in both my presales and project delivery work. His support and guidance has consistently helped me to advise my clients’ as to best fit third party products that best meet their requirements. We would not have won million dollar plus deals without his involvement and input! Rick combines: deep product knowledge and excellent commercial sense. His awareness of the broad range of third party products in the Microsoft stack, specifically related to enhancement of SharePoint functionality, is industry leading in my opinion. This is a result of his constant research, delivery experience and the extensive vendor network he has created over many years. Rick has a technical as well as a management background. This has proved useful to me time and time again. He has been able to give both technical and commercial assessments of third party products. While also being able to demonstrate and discuss these products to clients at a very detailed technical level. This gives clients’ confidence in his judgments and opinions on software products. His management expertise provides the great communication and strong administrative capabilities that are equally important when delivering services to clients. Rick is a strong commercial negotiator, always keen to secure a good and fair licence pricing for clients. He has acted on my behalf to secure good commercial rates and support services for a number of large software deals for my clients. Yet his fair minded and personable nature has meant that he is well liked and respected by all our third party vendors. This again is very useful to consultants like myself because good and strong relationships with vendors helps us in the delivery and support of third party products to clients. I would relish the opportunity to work with such a knowledgeable, easy to work with and ‘can do’ professionally again. I could not recommend Rick more highly.
