This is because he always had in mind what would create the best home, best public building and best coastal community that we all came together in our respective disciplines to create. Although already long into DD drawings, he arranged an opportunity for me to put those concerns and alternate design ideas to the Island's owner and then when approved facilitated my continual coordination of the new direction with the architect of record. His orchestration of that shift in plan between all the parties transformed the project. This was because, then as always, he was primarily focused on the true purpose of the project; as an authentic representation and introduction of Bald Head Island that would be the best welcoming and memorable experience for every visitor.
