Starting as Project Manager, Cheryl quickly became an integral member of Astor Group's leadership. As Creative Director, she fully rebranded the company (including name and voice), oversaw the creation of a new website and all new marketing materials, and designed and implemented countless exhibits for clients. She helped manage over 50+ trade shows each year (often including being on-site to perform and supervise set-up and dismantle), and handled the majority of operations, marketing, and sales support tasks. Cheryl's exhibit design work also brought the company their first award.

Cheryl was hired as a Research Design Contractor for the PPASS Project by Attic Design. In this role, she worked with a team of creatives to find solutions that helped create a communication channel that overcame barriers to establishing a dialogue with adolescent parents and helped Indiana State Department of Health in their efforts to reach the PPASS program goals. We accomplished this through focus groups, challenge mapping, data analyzation, and ideation/service design. The end product was used by 52 expectant teen parents.

In this role, Cheryl helped to secure and salvage the RCA/Hoosier Dome roof, which was slated for demolition. This effort diverted nearly 13 acres of Teflon-coated fiberglass from a local landfill, which Cheryl then repurposed into products (bags, wallets, and clutches) to help raise funds for larger urban reuse projects.
