Completed appraisal/ inventory of 220 linear feet of unprocessed archival materials pulled from firm’s high density/long-term storage. Generated first firm-wide finding aid to make possible the access and use of historic project photos, slides, and project information. Access and the means to easily find legacy materials (1935-1995) has enabled the creation of collaborative projects with internal marketing and public relations teams including: • Curation of company history for upcoming 80th Anniversary. • Use in social media: Twitter Firmwide, Twitter Chicago, and Facebook. • “Legacy+” and “Flat Larry & Phil” internal marketing program. • “Sweet Home Chicago” a web-based, geo-locative walking tour of P+W designed buildings in downtown Chicago. Responded to research needs to produce selling tools for new and existing clients: • Healthcare sector research project results in hospital design timeline. • Past project evidence supports new design and construction projects. • Assists with local writers on P+W importance to the built environment. Identified records of enduring value (paper and digital) to initiate development of a full-scale, long-term preservation and records retention plan which will secure firm history. • Provide long-term financial benefit by reducing inventory and cost of records being maintained in high-density storage.
